First of a couple of Christmas present posts! I normally try to make lots of things for my family at Christmas but with moving house and having a little one, this year just seems to have disappeared! I did manage to make a couple of things though. The first is another one of my photo noticeboards using a canvas, fabric, wadding and ribbon. They are so easy to make (this one took about 30 minutes) and look really effective. Hopefully my sister liked it too!

Boy's room canvases
I have finally managed to start crafting again in the new house and thought I should make something for my son's room. It's a bit different trying to make things for a boy but I'm enjoying the challenge. I've made two new canvases for his room.
First I made a zoo canvas using blue wallpaper as a background and stuck large stickers I got from 'The Range' for £1. I still have several left so might have to make something else with them! I then found some black alphabet stickers and added those to the corner.
For the second canvas I kept it very simple just using a sample of wallpaper which we might use for the whole room eventually. I like the idea of robots for his room so will see where it goes!

Disney Princess Canvas
Bethany has decided that Disney Princesses are her favourite theme at the moment and was asking for a picture for her wall. As most things are very expensive, I decided to make her a new canvas for her wall. I used a smaller canvas this time and added some Princess wallpaper to it. As the images were too far apart, I cut two of them out and added them to the canvas afterwards. It's not amazing, but my daughter loves it!

Animal canvas
I love making things for my daughter and as she is learning words now, I decided to create her a new canvas for her room with some animal words on it. She chose the animal MDF shapes from 'The Range' and I chose the blue wallpaper to staple to the canvas. We added the shapes to the canvas with some PVA glue and then used some letter stickers from Papermania to write the names of the animals. All ready to hang in her room now!

Alphabet Canvas
We've just finished redecorating my daughters room (she's nearly 3) and I decided it would be cheaper if I made a couple of canvases for her wall instead of buying ones with pictures. I bought the canvas from Home Bargains for £1 and used one of the wallpaper samples from when we were deciding on her wallpaper. I stapled that down using a staple gun on the back of the canvas. We then got a pack of puffy alphabet stickers from The Range for £1 and added those. I'm quite pleased with this for a grand total of £2 and my daughter loves it!

Ribbon Memo Board
This was a bit of an experiment! I had seen these 'French Memo Boards' online before and thought I should have a go. I got a couple of cheap canvases from a pound shop and used a staple gun to attach some wadding and fabric to one of them. I then bought 3m of ribbon which I cut into strips to go on the board. I stapled the strips in one direction and then wove the ones for the other direction through the existing ribbons and then stapled them down as well. I was then able to add some photos to the board which can be changed whenever you want! I'm actually quite pleased with how this turned out and am thinking of making more if I can find more cheap canvases.
